The Vietnam War began on November 1, 1955. Tensions were rising as the communist party continued to grow in Vietnam. This war was a conflict between the communists and capitalists or non-communists. North Vietnam (communists) start to invade South Vietnam (non-communists). The U.S are allies with South Vietnam; therefore, we send them help to prevent the spread of communism. We fought with them for various other reasons, including our economic interest, foreign policies, and to reassure Americans and help ease their fears.
